This is a well written book, it is a concise book on what happens during the mass. Mr. Hahn draws from the bible verses relating to how the mass is God's unveiling (Greek: Apokalypsis). I like how Mr. Hahn explains how the Book of Revelation is revealed in the mass and what all the people, symbols and numbers actually mean. The book of revelation makes more sense after reading this book.On a side note, for a more detailed description of the mass and the spiritual fruits and graces obtained from attending and hearing I recommend this book, "The Incredible Catholic Mass: An Explanation of the Catholic Mass" by Fr. Von Cochem is highly recommended.

A very studious look into the Mass in terms of biblical revelations. I couldn't appreciate it at the time of reading, because I had it for one of my classes and the class basically went over everything it said- before we actually read it. But with that class over, and a few years past, it's an excellent and information piece that is helpful for any Catholic that doesn't understand or fully appreciate the traditions of the Mass. Also very helpful, so I've been told, for people of other religions who are curious about the Church, or for people just interested in knowing what and why everything goes on during the Mass. Scott Hahn is an excellent theologian still teaching at Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio. This is just another masterful work of his.
I can't stop reading this book. It is very easy to understand and it explains really well the relationship between Mass on Earth as it is on Heaven.
I wish I would've had this book a long time ago to give me a different perspective as to why is there a Mass, and it actually being more than just a weekly routine or being forced to go to.
If you've drifted away from the Catholic Church, this is the book you want to read. Scott does an amazing job at backing up what he is writing about.
I confessed missing Mass a few times between confessions. The priest recommended that I read this book as penance. He told me that I would never miss Mass again. It has given me renewed understanding of the Mass. I am a convert off about eight years, I feel that the Catholic Church offers more then my previous churches. To me it is the "Real Deal", and The Lamb's Supper helps to prove that point. Dr. Hahn does a wonderful job in explaining the why and where for of the Mass.
This book came recommended from two difference sources who did not know one another. I enjoyed the overall impact of this book it gave me a deeper appreciation of the atmosphere and meaningfulness of the Mass. It is not a long boring exercise in penance; it is a deep, reverent peek into Heaven; interesting how one's perspective can be completely altered with explanations and insight.
Oh My Gosh! This is an Amazing book. Ever wonder what the Book of Revelation is really about? Very well researched by Dr. Scott Hahn. If you are a Catholic - nominal or deeply-rooted, this book is a must read if you haven't already. Buy extras as you will want to give this book out to all of your friends! Oh yeah, and I have a son that is a priest, and he highly recommends it too.
Born Catholic. Strayed. Went through life's ups and downs, and returned to my faith. Enjoying reading books to fully appreciate the one true church! This book, by far, is the most important, validating, reference material, for embracing the catholic mass! Read this, and you will never sit in a mass the same person again! This book, will leave you with a reason and purpose for every morsel of the mass...even arriving early. I am going to have to read this again soon. That is how valuable this book is!
Every Catholic and for that matter every person of faith should read this book. This describes in a very readable way what the Catholic mass means and why it is structured the way it is. For those who don't know why certain rituals and responses are done every week to those Christians who are curious about the supposed over ritualistic and ceremonial Catholic Church, it explains the biblical basis for the mass from beginning to end. From my perspective it's one of the most powerful religious books I have every read. I cannot recommend it more strongly. After the bible, the most important religious book on your shelf.
